Why work with us?

We met in July 2004 and began our adventures together enjoying each other living life to the fullest and enjoying the best parts of Alaska. We have been together since, now have 3 children, run our businesses side by side, and love the life we have built. Check out more about us here. Andrea grew up in California but fell in love with Alaska after visiting her grandparents in Cooper Landing as a child. After graduating college in 2004, she moved up to Cooper Landing and worked in nearby Moose Pass. Jeremy somehow convinced Andrea to live in Girdwood that winter, which started Andrea’s time as a year-round resident. From that winter to now Andrea has worked as a guide for several rafting companies, ran a fishing lodge, and currently manages reservations, logistics, and accounting for Alaska Drift Away Fishing. Andrea also owns and manages Alaska Silvertip Lodge and Cabins (purchased 2016) with her husband, Jeremy.

Jeremy grew up in Wisconsin, and in 2001 he spent his first summer in Alaska working at the Russian River Campground cleaning campsites on a tricycle, fishing, hiking, biking, and exploring. Jeremy spent the next few years working as a rafting guide on the Upper Kenai River out of Cooper Landing. In 2005, Jeremy and his best friends started Alaska Drift Away Fishing, a fishing company that offers guided salmon and trout trips on the Kenai Peninsula, which is entering its 16th season this summer. Jeremy is also the co-owner of Alaska Silvertip Lodge and Cabins (purchased 2016) with his wife, Andrea.

Throughout our time working for other businesses in the tourism industry and building our own businesses, our set of skills has naturally blossomed into being able to help people build custom Alaska vacations. Over the past 10 years in particular we have been building custom fishing and sightseeing packages for groups exploring Alaska.

Because of our vast connections originating in Girdwood and then spreading from Talkeetna to the entire Kenai Peninsula, we have the ability to offer people incomparable experiences with whatever direction they want to go. Between awesome lodging, epic guided sightseeing adventures, some of the best fishing on the planet, and all the secret little spots we like to send people on their own, your experience with us is like no other. We have chosen Girdwood as our home base since we came to Alaska because we love this town. We think Girdwood should be part of everyone’s stay in Alaska, whether is your entire stay or part of it.

My son and I just got back from a trip pulled from a dream. The setting and the hosts exceeded our every expectation!! When you visit the Alaska Silvertip website it gives you a brief history on Jeremy and Andrea, the owners. Their combined years of experience and knowledge about the area, what to do, what to see and all the right references ensure you are in the right hands on every breathtaking adventure. Andrea answered every question and never made me feel rushed. She also made the arrangements and had perfect itineraries. Jeremy and his fishing company (Drift Away Fishing) was an experience of a lifetime. My son is a good angler but Jeremy was so patient and broke every step down. The cabins were a delight. Ours was cozy and very clean. Every amenity we needed and some we did not think of were provided. The kitchens were great and the laundry facility was a huge plus. They showed me why people fall in love with Alaska and return every year… We will defiantly be back!

What an amazing location on the Kenai Peninsula! I stayed in one of the cabins with my husband and 2 teenage boys for a week. The cabin was spacious and clean. Ours had a new king sized bed in one bedroom and the other bedroom had 2 twin beds. We had a full sized bath and kitchen and a living room to lounge in. There is a fire pit on the property to hang out at after a day hiking or rafting or fishing. Soldotna has grocery shopping and great restaurants just minutes away. We spent a week traveling the peninsula…to Homer, Seward and Hope and the drives were easy to do and absolutely beautiful. Put Alaska and the Kenai Peninsula on your “must see” list and book a stay here! You can then book a fishing trip with Alaska Drift Away Fishing for the ultimate Alaska experience. We cannot wait to return!! We have done a lot of traveling as a family and this ranks among our top trips ever!

Silvertip Lodge has several charming cabins in a lovely forested and quiet setting. They provide fish freezers and washer/dryers onsite and are located very close to shopping and restaurants in Soldotna. But the best thing for us was the help that we got from Jeremy and Andrea in planning our time in Alaska. They fixed us up with fishing and whale watching outfitters near Soldotna and helped us plan our travels in other parts of Alaska. They are beyond hospitable and we look forward to return visits!
